Robert J. Berti
Robert Berti is President of North Country Procurement, Inc., is also owner of FORECO, a forestry firm managing approximately 40,000 acres of timberland in NH and VT. He received an A.D. in Forestry from the University of Massachusetts in 1960 and a B.S. in Forestry from the University of New Hampshire in 1965. He then joined Wagner Woodlands in Lyme, NH as their woodlands manager from 1965-1980. In 1980, he started his own forestry consulting business. In 1981, he was hired as project leader for the NH biomass research program funded by the US Department of Energy, which resulted in the publication of "An Assessment of Biomass Harvesting on Small Woodlots in New Hampshire" in June 1984. Since 1984, he and his company have conducted several studies for proposed wood fired generating plants. In 1986, he formed NCP with Mr. Dammann. Mr. Berti was president of the NH Timberland Owners Association from 1999 to 2000. He was also recipient of the 2000 Outstanding Forester Award from the Granite State Division of the Society of American Foresters. Mr. Berti has also been involved in his local community as a town selectman and planning board member. Mr.Berti is a licensed, professional forester in the state of New Hampshire.
James C. Dammann
James Dammann is Treasurer of North Country Procurement, Inc, received a B.S. in Biology from Dartmouth College in 1975 and a M.F.S. in Forest Economics from the University of New Hampshire in 1978. He became manager of wood energy for the Governor's Council on Energy in the state of New Hampshire in 1979. In 1981, he joined Connecticut Valley Chipping Corp., Inc., a large wood procurement service company, as the marketing arm of the company in the field of wood energy. In 1986, he became involved in several studies involving wood fired power plants in NH and formed NCP with Mr. Berti. Mr. Dammann was treasurer of the NH Timberland Owners Association from 1986 to 1990. He was also recipient of the NH Timberland Owners Association’s Kendall Norcott Award in 1988. Mr.Dammann is a licensed, professional forester in the state of New Hampshire.
Eric Kingsley of Innovative Natural Resource Solutions LLC has 18 years of experience in the biomass industry, and has worked with an extremely broad range of biomass users – from wood-fired electric facilities to wood pellet mills to community-scale biomass thermal units. He is a former board member of the Biomass Energy Resource Center (Vermont), currently serves on the Education & Outreach Committee of the Biomass Thermal Energy Council (Washington, DC) and regularly presents at biomass industry events. He currently advises consumers of over 4 million tons of biomass fuel annually.
Charles Levesque, President and founder of Innovative Natural Resource Solutions LLC, has over three decades of experience in the region’s forest products industry. Mr. Levesque’s professional career has ranged from serving as the CEO of several natural resource related non-profits including the Northern Forest Lands Council, administering the urban forestry program for a major metropolitan area, to working as a consulting forester and on a national forest. His relationships with loggers and mills – many of which go back decades – are valuable to the purchase, store, dry process and delivery of semi-dried biomass fuel.
Charlie Niebling is Partner with Innovative Natural Resource Solutions LLC. Previously he served as General Manager with New England Wood Pellet, where he was responsible for marketing and business development, wood procurement, corporate communications, and public affairs. He served as founding chair of the board of directors of the Biomass Thermal Energy Council in Washington DC. From 1987 to 2005, Mr. Niebling held positions with the N.H. Timberland Owners Association (executive director), Innovative Natural Resource Solutions (consultant), and the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (vice president). A licensed forester, Mr. Niebling holds forestry degrees from the University of Vermont and the Pennsylvania State University.
